More often than not it’s a big pain in the ass to try and find out the moons phase, or when a particular phase may take place. This great website easily shows you the moon’s phase, along with its % lit, and how “old” the current cycle is.

Now, if you’re trying to figure out exactly where the moon is at a particular time you can check out this website here. Essentially it calculates how high in the sky from the horizon the moon, or sun is at a given time which is very helpful if you don’t want to get up and do it yourself.
